for those who have never held a brush but have always
wanted to try and for the more experienced artist looking
to expand their skills. The focus of the classes will
be on having fun and totally worry free painting.

is designed to loosen and liven up your artwork. The class
will be spattering, splashing and pouring paint to learn
new ways to manipulate color and happy accidents. A focus
on color theory, negative painting and the principals
and elements of design will enhance the free flowing work.

Learning to let the
paint get out of control and enjoying the unique qualities
of watercolor is the focus of this series of classes.
Subject matter will include floral, landscape and abstract
painting.

is learning to paint
with very little work ... allowing the paint to work for
you. Part of the class will focus on the different properties
of the pigments and learning to let them get out of control.

a continuing exploration
of watercolor incorporating other aqueous media including
acrylics, gouache, watercolor crayons, collage and ink.
The focus of the classes will be experimental and trying
new approaches for creating exciting paintings.

using everything but
the kitchen sink to add interest to the paper's surface.
The class will be using tissue paper, oriental papers,
strings, threads, gauze, jute ropes, fabrics and found
objects to create textures.

Focuses on combining
different media in one piece of art. Some work will begin
with acrylic and be complete in watercolor; other pieces
will begin with watercolor and be completed in acrylic.
In the development of the painting other elements including
collage, colored pencils, metallic paints, and pastels
may be included to enhance the surface.

This
two-day workshop will be experimenting with coffee filters,
strings, gauzes, crepe paper and threads to create an
interesting surface. on the paper. All the texturing material
will be removed and the painting may be finished in a
realistic or abstract manner. The subject matter will
be flowers (kind of) and we will be working in pure watercolor.
Using the coffee filters as a guide we will cover several
different design concepts and briefly discuss color. The
primary objective will be to have fun and explore the
wonderful things watercolor can do.
